Abstract: Nanotechnology has transpired new and advanced technology unfolding paramount applications in the scientific community. Among broad variety of synthesis methods, green synthesis acquires utmost importance as it tunes with environmentally welcoming, economical, facile, and free of harmful chemicals which sustains the purity of nanomaterials. The ZnSe synthesized with guava leaves and bael seeds exhibits smaller size, i.e., quantum dots, while those synthesized with hibiscus petals are nanoparticles. Also, variation in morphology detects, the guava leaves mediated synthesis which shows the better spherical morphology. The optical properties of the synthesized samples are found to be similar. The bands of Zn and Se are confirmed via FTIR and Raman analysis. Electrical properties also expose guava mediated ZnSe shows best results. Thus, this study delivers an insight into the controlled green synthesis of ZnSe with guava as a pertinent capping agent, and how modification in their properties enhances their utility for different applications such as environmental purification.
