Abstract:
Strontium Oxide-Copper Oxide (SrO–CuO) nanocomposites and Polypyrrole-based Strontium Oxide-Copper Oxide [Py (SrO–CuO)] nanocomposites were crafted using traditional chemical techniques. X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) were used to analyze the specimens. The thermal conductivities of SrO–CuO and Py (SrO–CuO)-based nanofluids were monitored after they were synthesized using epoxy resin as the base fluid. The thermal conductivity of the nanofluids intensifies when the concentration of the nanocomposite or temperature upsurge. In the current scenario, heat dissipation in electronic components is very important and the results show that improving the thermal conductivity of epoxy resin by adding SrO–CuO nanocomposite can be used to heat dissipation performances in electronic components. In addition, this study aims to experimentally investigate the effect of SrO–CuO and Py (SrO–CuO) nanocomposites in epoxy resin on flame retardant property. It is found that adding Py (SrO–CuO) nanocomposite to intumescent flame retardant coating increased the Limiting Oxygen Index value to 28.5%. So, Py (SrO–CuO) incorporated intumescent flame retardant coating with epoxy resin can be rated as an effective flame retardant coating in wood, plastic, electronics, textiles, etc.
