Abstract:
Dazomet-micelle nanodelivery systems (DAMINs) were prepared using ionic surfactants: sodium dodecylbenzene sulfonate and sodium dodecyl sulfate; and non-ionic surfactant: Tween 80. Their physicochemical properties, crystallinity, size, thermal and morphology and their anti-fungicidal activity, toward the Ganoderma boninense also were evaluated and compared. The nanoparticle size of DAMINs was found to be dependent on surfactant type and their concentration which in turn played a crucial role in fungi inhibition. This study found that DAMINs prepared using sodium dodecylbenzene sulfonate (SDBS), DMBS gave the highest inhibitory activities with the lowest EC50 value of 4789 ug/L which is about ten times better compared to the one prepared using sodium dodecyl sulfate, Tween 80, DMDS and DMT, respectively, with the value of 31,598 and 21,083 ug/L, respectively. This is toward the new generation of nanofungicides of better efficacy.
