Abstract: In this investigation, new 4-Tetra-4-Tolyl-Sulfonyl:Iron-Phthalocyanine (4T4TS-FePc) thin films' physical properties were examined using a variety of experimental conditions. The structural, morphological and optical properties of 4T4TS-FePc thin films were studied using different methods and also show that over appropriate heat treatment, it is possible to obtain 4T4TS-FePc films with a morphology tailored particularly to the desired needs including photocatalysis. According to the X-ray results, the film transfigures into a monoclinic (\(\normalsize \beta\)-phase) structure at an annealing temperature of 200 °C, and the reported diffraction peaks are subsequently lost at this phase shift. The material stands out from other compounds due to its qualities for thin-film mechanical and chemical stability. Subsequently, the methylene blue degrades quickly (to reaching 41.66%) when exposed directly to resilient visible radiation (λ \(\geq\) 400 nm) for more than six hours, which is consistent with the rest of the features of these hybrid compounds indicating their significant potential as a photocatalyst. As a result, its potential for applications is evident for the treatment of wastewater.
