Abstract: In this research, precipitation of manganese sulfate monohydrate from a pregnant leach solution (PLS) by antisolvent crystallization with methanol was investigated. The effects of temperature, time, seeding, and volume ratio of organic antisolvent to the aqueous PLS (O/A) were studied. The optimum conditions determined in this study were a temperature of 50 °C, precipitation time of 5 min, and seed amount of 2%, and the maximum tested O/A ratio was adopted for all experiments since it gave a satisfactory Mn recovery. The precipitation efficiency of manganese was 91% under these conditions. The obtained precipitate contained 29.43% manganese in the form of MnSO4·H2O. It can meet the requirements of the agrochemical industries. Finally, the kinetics of crystallization was investigated. The experimental data were well fitted with the Avrami model. The activation energy was found to be 91 kJ/mol, which implied a surface integration control. Graphical abstract
