Abstract: The possibility of realizing multielectron processes of tungsten electroreduction from dimeric forms in the narrow potential range and of controlling process potential by means of melt acid-base properties is shown. Conditions of bringing together the reduction potentials of carbon dioxide and dimeric forms have been found. It has been shown that the direct electrochemical synthesis of molybdenum and tungsten carbides under excessive carbon dioxide pressure is possible in principle.
