8-Substituted 7-(Oxoalkyl)theophyllines

Abstract: 8-Substituted 7-(oxoalkyl)theophyllines were synthesized by alkylation of the respective theophyllines with chloroacetone or 6-chloro-2-hexanone, and alternatively, by addition of 8-substituted theophylline to methyl vinyl ketone. The effect of final compounds on aggregation of blood platelets and red blood cells was tested.
