Optimization of Partial Alkylation of 3-Methy[-3,7-dihydro-1H-purine-2,6-dione and its 8-Alky I Derivatives

Abstract: 7-Alkyl-3-methyl-3,7-dihydro-1H-purine-2,6-diones and their 8-alkyl derivatives were obtained from 3-methyl-3,7-dihydro-1H-purine-2,6-dione and its 8-alkyl derivatives by partial alkylation with alkyl (C₂-C₄) bromides in the presence of potassium carbonate in dimethylformamide.
