Volume properties of molten KF-KCl-KBF4 system

Abstract: Using the Archimedean method the densities of melts in the KF-KCl-KBF4 system were determined. The temperature dependences of the density of individual mixtures were described by linear functions ϼ = a - bT. On the basis of the measured densities the molar volumes and the excess molar volumes at the temperatures of 1000, 1100, and 1200 K were calculated. The dependence of the molar volume on composition was described using the regression equation V =  ∑ Vi°xi + ∑∑ хixjij+Bijxi)+x1x2x3C          i            i  j                                                                                                                                                                                                     i≠j                                                                                                                                                                                It was found that the molar volumes of the investigated melts are close to the additive values.
