ESR study of radical products from 1,3-dimethyl-4-alkylamino-5-nitrosouracils

Abstract: In the reaction of l,3-dimethyl-4-alkylamino-5-nitrosouracils with peroxy radicals formation of radicals of the iminoxyl type has been proved by ESR spectroscopy. The splitting constant and the g-factor values were as follows: a_N(NO) ≐ 3.2 mT, a_N(NCH₂R) ≐ 0.29 mT, a_H(CH₂R) ≐ 0.17 mT, and g = 2.0050. In the reaction with Pb(CH₃COO)₄ also formation of acyloxyl adducts to the nitroso group was observed.
