Preparation of mercapto compounds containing ferrocenyl group

Abstract: Ten new mercapto-3-arylpropanoylferrocenes have been prepared by the addition of H₂S to substituted 3-arylacryloylferrocene. The principal products are adducts with the substituent at position 3, but small amounts of 2-substituted adducts were obtained, too.
