Reactions of furo[3,2-b]pyrroles and their benzo[b] analogs

Abstract: Reaction of 4H-furo[3,2-6]pyrrole-5-carboxylic acid and 1H-benzo[6]furo[3,2-6]pyrrole-2-carboxylic acid with acetic anhydride is described. Re­sults of a study of formylation, alkylation, and acetylation reactions of furo[3,2-b]pyrroles and their benzo[b] analogues are presented.
