Abstract: The possibility of the use of Czechoslovak chelateforming ion exchanger OSTSORB DTTA (fixed functional group diethylenetriaminetetraacetic acid) has been studied for the separation and the determination of cations with different complexing properties (Cu(II), Zn(II), and Mg(II)) from the solutions of amino acids: α-aminoacetic acid (Gly), L-aspartic acid (Asp), L-glutamic acid (Glu), L-cysteine chloride (Cys • HCl), and D,L-methionine (Met). It was proved by the analysis of model mixtures with the different ratio n(Me) : n(acid) (1:2—1:2000) that the quantity of sorption is substantially influenced by pH of analyzed solution. On the contrary, the concentration and mutual ratio of components in solution do not influence the sorption.
