Abstract: Dihydronarceine imide TV-oxide reacted under various conditions with acetic anhydride to give derivatives of l-benzylisoindolin-3-one, 7,8,13,14-tetrahydro- and 13,14-dihydro-5#-isoindolo[l,2-6][3]benzazepin-5-one. Some addition and substitution reactions of the above-mentioned compounds are also described.
