1,3-dipolar cyclo-additions of heterocycles. 19. Cyclo-addition of furonitrile oxides to oxygen-containing heterocycles

Abstract: 1,3-Dipolar cycloadditions of 5-X-2-furonitrile oxides (X = H, N0₂ , 4-and 3-nitrophenyl) with 5,6-bis(methoxycarbonyl)-7-oxabicyclo[2,2,l]hept-2-ene, l,4-epoxy-l,4-dihydronaphthalene, 2,3- and 2,5-dihydrofuran, 2,3-dihydropyran, and 2-R-substituted l,3-dioxep-5-enes (R = H, CH₃, phenyl), respectively, are described. Regioselectivity as well as endo-exo stereoselectivity is discussed.
