Dynamics of adsorption of industrial vapor on carbon sorbent

Abstract: The dynamics of adsorption on active carbon HS 43 was investigated for the
following adsorptives: ethyl acetate, butyl alcohol, toluene, and vapour of
industrial solvents S 6001, S 6712, and С 6000. Nitrogen was used as carrier
gas. On the basis of the calculated degree of sorbent saturation and height of
zone of mass transfer, it has been found that active carbon HS 43 is suited to
trapping the vapour of solvents S 6001 and S 6712. It has been revealed from
the course of temperature curves that the layer need not be cooled before
adsorption because all released heat is removed by the carrier gas.
