Complex-compounds of nickel with salicylaldoxime

Abstract: Some octahedral complexes of the Ni(HSal)₂ • LL- nH₂0 type (LL = 1,10-phenanthroline,  α,α'-bipyridyl or ethylenediamine and n =0.1) were prepared by using the reaction of Ni(HSal)₂ (H₂Sal = salicylaldoxime— C₇H₇NO₂) with bidentate ligands. The reaction of Ni(HSal)₂ with bromine results in bromination of the aromatic ring of ligand. The possibility of oxidizing Ni(HSal)₂ with peroxodisulfaté or hydrogen peroxide has been studied.
