Reactions of hydroxymethylferrocenes with C-acids catalyzed by Ca²⁺-montmorillonite

Abstract: It was found that Ca²⁺ - montmorillonite and Ca²⁺ -bentonite can be used as catalysts for the reactions of hydroxymethylferrocenes with ethyl malonate, ethyl formamidomalonate, acetylacetone, and aniline. The reaction can find synthetical utilization because the 40—60 % yields of products have been obtained without optimalization.
