Synthesis and properties of 2-hydrazinobenzothiazole derivatives

Abstract: N^β -Substituted monohydrazides of dicarboxylic acids were prepared by reacting 2-hydrazinobenzothiazole with anhydrides of dicarboxylic acids. The resulting compounds afforded cyclic N^α-acetylated derivatives upon treatment with acetic anhydride. The structure of the new compounds was confirmed by infrared spectra. The chosen compounds of both types were tested as pesticides and as animal growth stimulators.
