Synthesis of methyl 3-D,L-alanylamido-3,6-dideoxy-α-D-glucopyranosides

Abstract:  The preparation of the above compound by the reaction of methyl 3-amino-3,6-dideoxy-a-D-glucopyranoside with N-benzyloxycarbonyl-D,L-alanine and the subsequent hydrogenolysis of the obtained product is reported. Simultaneously the antibacterial activity of the investigated compound is described.
