Preparation, spectral and electrochemical characterization of (dithiocarbamato)nitrosylchromium complexes

Abstract:  Complexes of Cr[(C₂H₅)₂iNCS2]₂(H₂0)NO and Crr[(CH₂)₄NCS₂]₂(H₂0)NO were prepared. Nitrosyl coordination was verified Ы; chemical analysis and by electronic absorption, infrared, and e.p.r. spectra. Voltammetric afld cóulomet- ric characteristics were determined on platinum find dropping mercury elec- trodes in dimethylformamide and acetonitrile. Electrode reduction and oxida- tion of complexes are associated with changes, in the coordination sphere. Results were compared with conclusions drav/n from studies of analogous chromium(III) tris(dithiocarbamate) complexes;.
