Abstract: Radiostrontium extn. from urine following the extn. of radiocesium was investigated. The polyhedral complex of the type H+[(π-(3)-1,2-C2B9H11)2Co-], further referred to as dicarbolide-H+, in nitribenzene was used for extn. The influence of HNO3 and polyethylene glycol concn. upon the yield of radiostrontium extn. was examd. The polyethylene glycol hydrophobizing supports the extn. of Sr cations into nitrobenzene. Distribution ratios of microamounts of 90Sr and 89Sr were detd. in the system nitrobenzene-dicarbolide-H+-HNO3 soln., or nondiluted urine and urine dild. 5-20-fold with distd. water. Distribution ratios of some other fission and activated radionuclides were detd. under conditions suitable for radiostrontium extn. A scintillation spectrometry procedure for the quant. anal. of radiostrontium in urine was suggested. By this procedure, an activity of 3.7 Bq dm-3 can be determined.
