Spectrophotometric determination of gold using Septonex

Abstract: The formation of the ion assoc. of [AuCl₄]^- with carbethoxypentadecyltrimethylammonium bromide (Septonex) was studied. A new spectrophotometric method for the detn. of Au(III) at μg/cm³ levels by using Septonex was developed; the absorbance of the ion assoc. is measured at 332 nm in pH 0.1-1.0 soln.
