Direct photometric determination of micro amounts of rare earth elements with Arsenazo I in certain metals in the presence of potassium cyanide

Abstract: The direct photometric detn. of microquantities of rare earth elements (RE) with Arsenazo I in metals forming stable cyano complexes is described. KCN is used to eliminate the interference by 105-106-fold excess Ag(I), Cd(II), Co(II), Cu(II), Ni(II), Pd(II), Pt(IV), and Zn(II). Al(III) interference is removed by adding Na sulfosalicylate. The detn. was performed by the action of Arsenazo I in triethanolamine buffer solns. at pH 7.5-9.5.
