Abstract: The influence of V concn., pH, and temp. on the compn. of solid products formed in the system NaVO₃-HNO₃-H₂O was investigated. The compds. Na₆V₁₀O₂₈.18H₂O, Na₅HV₁₀O₂₈.22H₂O, and Na₂V₆O₁₆.3H₂O were prepd. and the conditions of their prepn. in particular systems were optimized. Besides the above compds., brown products with varying compn., which may be regarded as intermediates in the formation of Na₂V₆O₁₆.3H₂O, were also isolated from the given systems.
