Abstract: The effect of V concn., acidity, and temp. of the soln. on compn. of the products of the reactions involving binary replacement in the systems NaVO3-AcOH-Cd(OAc)2-H2O and NaVO3-HClO4-Cd(OAc)2-H2O was studied. Cd(VO3)2.4H2O is predominantly formed in both systems at 20°C. Under certain conditions, even Na4CdV10O28.24-26H2O arises in a system contg. AcOH. With increasing temp. of the solns., the equil. is shifted towards formation of less condensed vanadate ions, which manifests itself in increasing content of Cd2V2O7 in the solid product.
