Veratrum alkaloids. XXX. Isolation and characterization of principal alkaloids from the underground part of Veratrum nigrum L

Abstract:  Jervine and the hypotensive-active ester alkaloid veratroylzygadenine were isolated from the underground part of Veratrum nigrum L. growing in our country. The identity of both alkaloids was proved on the basis of spectral data and comparison with the authentic specimens.
