Synthesis of 2-(R-benzal)-5-pyrrolidones

Abstract:  2-(R-Benzal)-5-pyrrolidones were synthesized from succinimide, benzyl type of Grignard reagents, and subsequent decomposition of the reaction product with dilute hydrochloric acid.
