Claisen rearrangement of allyl aryl ethers

Abstract:  The Claisen rearrangement of allyl aryl ethers was studied. On the basis of original results as well as the revaluation of the published results concerning the ortho- and para -Claisen rearrangement it has been proved that the ortho- and para -Claisen rearrangement is a reaction of the zero order. Only in a special case, provided the solvent is present in a great excess, the ortho- and para-Claisen rearrangement obeys the temporal law of the first-order reactions.
