Furan derivatives. LXXX. Synthesis and properties of substituted furfurylideneoxindoles

Abstract: Oxindoles I (R1 = R2 = H, R = H, NO2, Cl, Br, I, Me, MeS, CO2Me, p- and m-O2NC6H4, Me2N; R1 = H, R2 = NO2, R = H, Cl, Br, I, Me, MeS, Ac, 4-O2NC6H4; R1 = Ac, R2 = H, R = H, NO2, Cl, Br, I, Me, MeS, NMe2) were prepd. by condensation of oxindole, 5-nitrooxindole, and 1-acetyloxindole, resp., with the resp. furancarboxyaldehydes, some I (R1 = Ac) were prepd. by acetylation of I (R1 = H). UV, IR and mass spectra of I were interpreted.
