Application of a new type of porous supports in gas chromatography

Abstract:  New types of inorganic porous supports on the basis of natural silicates for the adsorption and gas partition chromatography were tested. The influence of surface area and the amount of Carbowax 20M on the elution characteristics of separated compounds, on the asymmetry of their peaks, and on the dependence of HETP upon carrier gas flow was investigated. The results were applied to the analyses of aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, esters, and aliphatic alcohols.
