Synthesis of 6-(2-Benzotriazolyl)-2,2,-alkylenediphenols

Abstract:  The preparation of 6-(2-benzotriazolyl)-2,2/-alkylenediphenol derivatives by the reaction of o-nitrobenzenediazonium chloride with corresponding 2,2'-alkylenediphenols is described. In an analogous way also 2,2'-methylenedi[6-(2-benzotriazolyl)phenols] were prepared. Finally, these substances were also synthesized by applying the reaction of 2-(2-benzotriazolyl)phenol with formaldehyde in the presence of sulfuric acid.
