Polysaccharides of Wood-destroying Fungus Fomes fomentarius Extracted with Water

Abstract:  Aqueous extraction of fruit bodies Q{ Fomes fomentarius yielded a mixture of polysaccharides, fractionation of which afforded a mannofucogalactan and a glucan. The methods used to solve their structure have been hydrolysis, methylation analysis and periodate oxidation.
