Derivatives of 2-deoxy-2-aminoaldonic acid nitriles studied by means of infrared spectroscopy

Abstract: The absorption of the nitrile group of some 2-deoxy-2-phenylamino and 2-deoxy-2-benzylamino derivs. of the aldonic acids in the IR range 2230-2250 cm.^-1 was described. The IR spectra of 11 compds. are given. The 2-phenylamino derivs. show a more intensive absorption than 2-benzylamino derivs. After the conversion to the corresponding acetyl derivs., the acyclic structure remains unchanged and the absorption of the -C ≡N group can be observed only at the considerably higher concns.
