The effect of temperature on the separation of chromium and manganese on ion exchangers. II. Factors influencing the separation process

Abstract:  The sorption behaviour of chlorocomplexes of chromium (III) and manganese (II) on anion exchange resin Dowex 2X-8 from the 10.5 and 7 м hydrochloric acid, respectively, was studied at various temperatures. The basic parameters of elution curves obtained by dynamic method were used to study the factors influencing the separation process. The changes of values of distribution coefficients, theoretical exchange plate, enthalpy of exchange reaction and distribution factor with temperature were determined.
