Enthalpy and entropy of melting of lithium cryolite

Abstract: The value of the enthalpy and entropy of melting of Li3AlF6 was studied. The values detd. from the various empirical data and simple variants of the method of the thermodynamic analogy and from the exptl. data of the cryoscopic method were 21.3 ± 1.0 and 21.1 ± 1.1 kcal./mole, resp. In both cases, the phys. probable values are in the range 20.4 to 20.8 kcal./mole.
