Oxidation-reduction changes in some complexes and the trans-effect

Abstract: On the basis of the exptl. data, a common foundation for the substitution processes with a SN₂ mechanism and the processes causing the shifting of the charge on the trans-coordinate in some complexes is described. It was detd. by use of the model that the ligands with an increased trans activity or with a capacity to form the dative π bonds, also to a great extent support the oxidn. of the ligands in the trans position.
