Determination of long-chain fatty acids by gas chromatography without previous esterification

Abstract: The sepn. of long-chain fatty acids isolated from poultry fat by gas chromatog. is described. Without previous esterification, the long-chain fatty acids are subjected to gas chromatog. at 210° on a 2.4 m. × 3 mm. glass column filled with Chromosorb W contg. 5% polyethylene glycol succinate and 1% H₃PO₄.
