Liquid-liquid equilibriums in the system 2,3-dichloro-1,3-butadiene-methanol-water

Abstract: To ext. MeOH from its mixt. with 2,3-dichloro-1,3-butadiene (I), the equil. system liq.-liq. was studied in the ternary system I-MeOH-H₂O at 20° by the synthetic method. This system is formed with 1 pair of liqs. with limited mixing capacity. An equil. triangle was constructed, and the selectivity values of the measured extn. layers were calcd. From the high values of selectivity and from the shape of the ternary diagram in the binary system I-MeOH, water is the most suitable extn. agent.
