Abstract: The autors studied the polymerization of methyl methacrylate, initiated by 2,2'-azoiso- butyronitrile in its solid mixture with 60 —90 wt % paraffine at 27 — 41 °C, and in liquid mixture at 46 °C. In homogeneous mixtures with a higher content of paraffine than 70 %, the initial rate of polymerization and the average degree of polymerization of the arising poly(methyl methacrylate) increase in comparison with the case, when the mixtures contain 60 — 70 % of paraffine. The temperature dependence of the average degree of polymerization at maximum conversion of monomer passes through the maximum at temperature between 27 — 35 °C.
