Aminolysis of sucrose. IX. Reactions of sucrose with aqueous hydrazine solutions at elevated temperatures

Abstract: Aminolysis of d-glucose and d-fructose was carried out with 23% N₂H₄ soln. during 8 weeks at room temp. The reaction mixt. yielded 15.48% sorbite and 39.88% of a d-sorbitol, d-glucose, d-glucosazine mixt. and 22.40% of a d-glucose and d-glucosazine mixt. Aminolysis of sucrose with the same soln. at 144° and 220° during 16 hrs. d-glucose hydrazone and sucrose in mixt. and d,l-propane-1,2-diol and glycerin mixt., resp. at 220° a sucrose and erythritol mixt. Given reaction conditions romote only redn. and condensation.
