Temperature-controlled vacuum chamber for x-ray analysis of polymers

Abstract: A vacuum chamber was constructed for the x-ray analysis of polymers by the method of penetrating radiation. A circulation technique used for heating and cooling permitted operation at -50 to +250°. The temp. was controlled within ±1°. The absorption permitted a diffraction cycle corresponding to a min. sepn. of the lattice planes of 2.4 A. (radiation from a Cu anticathode).
