Spectrophotometric determination of small amounts of hexachlorocyclopentadiene in the atmosphere

Abstract: An anal. method for the detn. of small amts. of hexachlorocyclopentadiene (I) in the atm. was described. After absorption in EtOH, I is detd. photometrically at 323 mμ. The detn. is not affected by the presence of the cyclopentadiene, dicyclopentadiene, Cl, and HCl. Good reproducible results are obtained at the concns. 0.2-1.3 mg. of I in 25 ml. of EtOH.
