Oscillographic polarography in quantitative analysis. XXII. The determination of trace amounts of Cu, Pb, Cd and Zn in Be and Mg metals and in Hf

Abstract: Cu, Pb, Cd, and Zn as impurities in Be and Mg metals were detd. after accumulation on a hanging Hg-drop electrode in 1-2M HCl. The amts. were 10^-6-10^-8M in soln. or 10^-4-10^-6% by wt. in the metal. The same impurities in trace amts. in M HF were detd. directly by the oscillographic peak at higher concns. or after electrolysis as the accumulation on the electrode.
