Oscillographic polarographic determination of small amounts of thallium in the presence of excessive amounts of tin and cadmium

Abstract: Tl⁺ in Sn-Cd alloys is detd. in a supporting electrolyte of M HBr and M KBr. The alloy is dissolved in HNO₃, and the soln. evaporated to dryness. Tl+ was extd. with Et₂O or iso-Pr₂O from HBr medium. Tl⁺ produced a cathodic deriv. peak at concns. of Tl⁺ 9 × 10^-5, 1.9 × 10^-4, 2.9 × 10^-4, and 3.9 × 10^-4M.
