Thermal expansion of minerals in the system CaO-Al₂O₃

Abstract: CaO.Al₂O₃ and 3CaO.Al₂O₃ were prepd. The av. coeff. of thermal expansion (α) was measured and the true value of α was detd. graphically. The linear expansion in % was calcd. at 20-1000°. The values of α were: for CaO.Al₂O₃, 7.1 × 10^-6/degree and for 3CaO.Al₂O₃, 10.4 × 10^-6/degree.
