Oxidation-reduction potential of Ag2O3 in the acidified silver salt

Abstract: Galvanic cell Ag|;AgNO3 + HNO3|; Ag2O3 (Pt) at 25° and at the same activity of Ag+ and H+ ions has the e.m.f. E° = 0.958 v. and the temp. coeff. dE°/dT = 0.97 mv./degree. The standard potentials are E°3 = 1.757 v. for Ag2O3, Ag and E°23 = 1.711 v. for Ag2O3, Ag2O2. The standard thermodynamic values of Ag2O3 are δG° = 29.0 kcal./mole, δH° = 7.9 kcal./mole, and S° = 25 cal./degree-mole
