Abstract: By electrophoresis in a 5-chamber app., preparative electrophoresis and paper chromatography, from native honeybee poison, some low-mol. peptide components and some material showing pos. reaction with Pauly's agent, called P0, P1, and P2 were detected. From the anodic fraction 5 components were isolated contg. these amino acids: (1) aspartic acid and alanine, (2) aspartic acid, alanine, and proline, (3) glutamic acid, alanine, and valine, (4) aspartic acid and valine, (5) glutamic acid, alanine, and proline. From the cathodic fraction 2 components were isolated contg. these amino acids: (1) arginine, glutamic acid, and lysine, (2) glutamic acid, lysine, valine. P0, P1, and P2 showed Rf values 0.55, 0.60, and 0.70. After complete hydrolysis of P1 and P2, a small amt. of histamine was detected.
