Abstract: At 210° and 220° the rate of the title cleavage decreases up to 3.5% and then the rate is const. up to 20% of cleaved Cl. At 230°, 240°, and 250° the rate of cleavage is const. up to 20% of cleaved Cl. The cleavage of HCl can be explained by the arrangement of the initiatory centers on the polymer chains, by the degree of branching, by the presence of peroxides and by a distribution form according to mol. wt. The measured value of the effective activation energy is 31 kcal. mol-1, which is in agreement with literature data.
