Hemoglobin. XVII. Effect of carboxypeptidase A and B on the polypeptide chain isolated from the hemoglobin of the monkey Macacus rhesus

Abstract: The effect of carboxypeptidase A and B was studied on the fractions derived by the chromatograph of globin of the monkey. The fraction A corresponding in its mobility to α chain is ended with Lys-Tyr-Arg, which is analogous to the sequence of α chains of human hemoglobin. In fractions B and C the ending Lys-Tyr-His was detd. which corresponds to the C-terminal ending of β chains of human hemoglobin.
